Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour – Tanzania (Day Trip)

Morning: Departure from Arusha
Your Western Bridge Africa driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha around 7:30 AM.
Enjoy a scenic drive past Maasai villages, open plains, and the towering silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro as you approach Moshi and finally Materuni Village.
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your local Chagga guide, who will welcome you to the community and brief you about the day’s activities.

Late Morning: Hiking to Materuni Waterfall
Begin your guided hike through lush tropical vegetation, banana farms, and coffee fields.
As you walk, your local guide will share stories about Chagga traditions, local plants, and farming techniques.
The trail is moderate and suitable for most fitness levels, offering stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro (on clear days).
After about 45–60 minutes, you’ll reach the Materuni Waterfall — a breathtaking 70-meter cascade surrounded by green cliffs and cool mist.
You can:
Relax and enjoy the natural beauty
Take photos of the waterfall and surrounding landscape
Refresh yourself with a swim in the natural pool at the base of the waterfall (optional but highly recommended!)

Midday: Local Lunch
After the waterfall visit, walk back to the village where a traditional Chagga lunch awaits you.
You’ll enjoy homemade dishes such as rice, banana stew, beans, local vegetables, and fresh tropical fruits — all prepared with love by local women.

Afternoon: Coffee Experience (From Bean to Cup)
Following lunch, immerse yourself in a hands-on coffee-making session with local farmers.
Learn the entire process of coffee production — from picking ripe coffee cherries, pulping, drying, roasting, grinding, to brewing.
Join in the fun as villagers sing traditional Chagga songs during roasting and grinding — a lively cultural experience that’s both educational and entertaining!
Finally, enjoy a freshly brewed cup of organic Arabica coffee, grown right in Materuni’s volcanic soil — rich in flavor and aroma, and truly farm-to-cup.

Evening: Return to Arusha
After a day full of adventure, relaxation, and cultural discovery, begin your journey back to Arusha in the late afternoon.
Arrive at your hotel around 6:00 PM, marking the end of your memorable Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour with Western Bridge Africa.
