4 Days Mount Meru Trekking

Morning:
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Arusha National Park, approximately 1.5 hours away. After park registration at Momella Gate (1,500 m), meet your armed ranger and mountain crew.

Trek Route:
The trail ascends through lush rainforest inhabited by giraffes, colobus monkeys, buffaloes, and warthogs. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch along the way as your guide explains the local flora and fauna.

Afternoon:
Arrive at Miriakamba Hut in the late afternoon. Relax, enjoy a warm meal, and watch the sunset over the plains of Arusha.

Trekking Time: 4–6 hours

Overnight: Miriakamba Hut

Attractions & Activities:

• Rainforest trekking and wildlife sightings

Morning:
After breakfast, continue your trek through the forest and into the open moorland zone. The trail is steep in sections, but the views become increasingly spectacular.

Afternoon:
Arrive at Saddle Hut, located in a high alpine meadow beneath the peak of Little Meru (3,820 m). After resting and lunch, you can do an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru — offering beautiful views of the summit ridge and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

Evening:
Dinner and early rest in preparation for your midnight summit attempt.

Overnight: Saddle Hut

Midnight:
Wake up around 12:00–1:00 a.m. for a light snack and begin your summit attempt. Trek across a rocky ridge, passing Rhin Point (3,800 m) and continuing along a narrow trail with steep drop-offs on either side. The climb is challenging but safe under your guide’s supervision.

Sunrise:
Reach Socialist Peak (4,566 m) around dawn, where you’ll witness a spectacular sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro — a truly unforgettable moment.

Morning:
After photos and celebration, descend carefully back to Saddle Hut for breakfast and short rest. Continue descending to Miriakamba Hut for overnight.

Morning:
Enjoy breakfast and begin your final descent through forested trails back to Momella Gate. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way.

Late Morning:
Sign out at the park gate, receive your Mount Meru trekking certificate, and transfer back to Arusha town.
